Chicken Tao
Ingredients: Servings: 6
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp. fresh ginger, chopped
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 3 lb. boneless chicken breasts, skinned and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 tsp. ground white pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups chopped green onions
- 16 small peppers sundried

Preparation time: 30min> Cooking time: 20min> Ready in: 50min- To make the sauce: In a large bowl, mix 1/2 cup cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Add garlic, ginger, sugar, 1/4 cup soy sauce and white wine vinegar. Stir in chicken broth stir together until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate.
- To prepare the chicken: In a separate bowl, combine the chicken, 1/2 cup soy sauce and white pepper. Add egg and 1 cup cornstarch. Stir to coat chicken. Add the oil and mix. In small quantities, to the chicken in hot oil at 350 ° F (180 ° C) in a fryer. Brown. Drain on paper towels.
- To combine all: Put some oil in a wok and heat over medium-high heat. Once the hot oil, add the onions and peppers and saute briefly. Remove the sauce from the refrigerator and pour it into the wok. Add chicken and cook until thickened (add starch or water to desired consistency).
